Lovely End to a Day of Touring

End of a Lovely Day

Recently, I've been re-introduced to an old love...exploring SL!  For years, I was the "tour goddess" of Caledon Oxbridge University and my school's region, Jaguarland (and all of those tours helped with my study of virtual tourism and team-building)--I even served as the tour stream lead for VWBPE one year as part of an internship project.

All of that seems like a lifetime ago.

So much of my recent "travel" in Second Life has involved hopping around, following event listings or sales...or the yearly sport of advent runs. And my inventory bloat proves it! 😉 But it had been a long time since I'd toured and explored large areas.

Then the stilt regions of Bellessaria dropped. My friend Vic (who's been in SL for only a few months now) somehow landed one on the second region that was released and, while I was doing his decorating (he has NO FURNITURE in his inventory! Still not sure how that happens!)--anyway, while I was busy, he discovered virtual boats, namely Bandit. I spent some time on the boat with him, touring the newer areas by water and, though I was taking my virtual life in my hands (he's brand new at boating), we had a blast!

Recently, I discovered that Teegle had a horse at The Outlet for 50% off. Vic and I both ended up with one. We liked them so much, we bought two more at the Home and Garden show. And I won't even get into the range of vehicles he's picked up from 777 Motors (another addiction!). We've spent hours roaming the roads of Bellisaria, discovering those "easter eggs" so lovingly left by the Mole team.

Next up, air travel!

Having a buddy who is fairly new to SL has helped me see it with new eyes. After being inworld for well over a decade, sometimes it's easy to focus on what's gone from the grid and get jaded. Exploring with Vic has allowed me to discover Second Life again. While some of my old favorites are long gone, that doesn't mean I can't find new faves. And sharing that process with someone else makes it all the sweeter.
