Spooky Seasonal Goodness (or Who Says Goths Must Wear Black?)
For those of us who are fans of fantasy skins, this time of year brings positive bliss! Not only are there the Halloween skin offerings found at the fall Shop and Hop and other events and hunts but Fallen Gods celebrates their anniversary all month in October too!
It's impossible to resist playing with new looks and thanks to BOM, it's possible to mix and match old skins and detailed makeup with new.
One of my latest looks is the Woman in White:

How I did it:

Skin--Dernier Yves skin in Dracula
Makeup--Dernier Elvira Lipstick #1
Eyes--A.D.D.Andel! Glossy Orb Eyes in White
Body--Maitreya Lara
Skin--Velour Ipanema Body skin for Maitreya in Dracula
Shape--7DS Gemstone for Lelutka Evo (modified)
Hair--Doux Santana

Bouquet--Leigh Winter Rose & Lily Bouquet (former hunt prize)
Dernier has been offering their fantasy tones on sale at both FLF-o-Ween (open 'til Nov 1st) and the weekend sales. It should be noted that the skins are *only* for the face/head. It took me a bit of work but I finally chased down the matching body skins from Velour (at the time of this posting, they are not offered on Marketplace but only at their mainstore). For L$999, I picked up the fantasy fatpack for an individual body (in my case, Maitreya). It includes body skins in the Dark Elf, Dracula, Dusk, Green Alien, Grey Alien, Lavender Fairy, Ocean, and Pink Fairy tones. While it was an extra expense I hadn't counted on, now I have the whole line so I can blissfully pick up any of the sale face skins and makeups offered by Velour partners and collaborators.

Hunts around Halloween are an extra bit of fun--and there's always so many of them! Now with EEP and experiences, hunt designers can really produce adventures participants won't soon forget. One of the smaller hunts I regularly hit is sponsored by Leigh at their mainstore. For their Halloween Hauntings, this time there was a Dickens-style village scene leading to a haunted manor house. There are directions offered to get the best experience and even a soundtrack available to complete the spookiness.
Below are a couple of pics I snapped while there. :)

It's been a rough couple of years for so many people. One of the wonderful things about Second Life is that it offers chances to play dress up and participate in games and celebrations--forgetting all of the drama in the real world and returning to the sense of play from when we were kids. Don't know where to start? Head over to the Halloween Shop and Hop and pick up the gifties there or scope out the hunts listed on sites like Seraphim.
Add to the fun by dressing up and taking photos! Then hit a sandbox and relive a bit of childhood excitement of opening and playing with new loot and gifts!
