An Oldbie SL Librarian Gets a New Look
Took another oldbie into modern mesh tonight (but with a vintage twist)!
"Miss Junie" as she likes to be called has not changed her look since she arrived on the grid in 2008. She would agree, it was much overdue! We had to keep in mind that she wanted a full figure look and wanted to portray her work position, but in the Victorian era. No problem, right? 😁
Although it took a few hours to get everything set, thanks to Miss Junie popping inworld periodically to take advantage of gift offers over the past several months (she had both the Catwa and Genus gift heads in her inventory as well as several gift mesh bodies that she opted not to use), we put together her entire look, including a starter Victorian mesh wardrobe, for under 20 USD!
Here's the breakdown:
Hair--Gretchen from the SL Library (free!)
Head/eyes--Genus strong (free gift version)--added wrinkles from the Genus hud
Body--Belleza Freya (the biggest investment in the whole makeover)
Shape--Maze Store Shape Andra, modified ("gift" from MP!)
Skin--7 Deadly S[k]ins Nevel in Cotton Candy (weekend deal!)
Outfit--Cog & Fleur Vanessa in Celtic Green (bought on a sidewalk sale!)
Glasses--basic vintage mesh glasses from Millinery Shoppe (5L on MP!)
With a new bento AO (from Tuty's) and a few more Victorian items from the Cog & Fleur sidewalk sale, this makeover came in right at 3500L. (That's about the price of one month of game-time in World of Warcraft--and she gets to keep this for good!)
Not bad to get a vintage look using some of the best designer brands on the grid!
Awesome transformation--now we have to find her Freya rigged Victorian gowns (the C&F is basic mesh sizes so it really doesn't show off her "plushie" shape as well as they could, but they're a great start).
